Andrea Hsu (re)joins NK Architects as Principal

NK Architects is pleased to announce that Andrea Hsu has joined the firm in the position of Principal.

An accomplished interior designer with over twenty years of specialized expertise in healthcare and wellness, Andrea brings a deep understanding of how aesthetics and functionality meet within successful healthcare facilities. She has led projects at all scales within the U.S., Asia, and the Middle East, creating innovative and lasting design solutions. Andrea is passionate about design that involves complex problem solving; from aligning institutional goals and user needs to forward-thinking operational strategies to improve workflow.

Key projects include the Kimmel Pavilion, Hassenfeld Children's Hospital and the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine at NYU Langone Health, Northshore University Hospital Monti Lobby and Staten Island Cancer Center for Northwell Health, Infusion Department for Mount Sinai Health System Queens, Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine at Penn Medicine and the Center for Care and Discovery at University of Chicago Medical Center and Smilow Center for Translational Research for the School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Andrea has also worked internationally on healthcare projects in Beirut, Lebanon with the American University of Beirut Medical Center and for Jiahui Health with Partners Healthcare in Shanghai, China.

Andrea holds a B.S. in Design and Environmental Analysis from Cornell University. She has been a visiting critic at New York School of Interior Design and Cornell University. She has previously taught at the Robert Busch School of Design at Kean University and is currently teaching Healthcare Design, Programming and Planning in the Master's program at the New York School of Interior Design.

Andrea is National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certified, Evidence Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) certified and a recognized Certified Healthcare Interior Designer (CHID) through the American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID). She is the Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee Chair for the Women in Healthcare New York Metro Chapter and a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Health Leaders and the Association of Medical Facility Professionals (AMFP) New York.
